Signing the MOU

Signing of the MOU with Uganda's Ministry of Education

In February 2024, a signing ceremony was held in Kampala between Watanabe of Sprix's Overseas Business Division and Ketty Ramaro, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education. The ceremony was attended by approximately 10 people, including Mulindwa Ismael, Director General of the Basic and Secondary Education Bureau. It was confirmed that the Ministry of Education and Sprix will work together to encourage public and private schools across the country to take the TOFAS exam.

KCB Bank training session

Empowering Single Mothers in Namuwongo and Kinawataka

KCB Bank and Burgess Foundation conducted a three-day training in Namuwongo from May 12–14, equipping 50 teenage and single mothers with skills to make liquid soap, books, and reusable sanitary towels. Sylvia Nashuha of KCB Bank encouraged participants to use the skills for self-employment, while Stella Kyobutungi of Burgess Foundation urged them to save with financial institutions to grow their businesses. The program also included an outreach offering free HIV testing, antenatal care, COVID-19 vaccination, and family planning services.

#buyabook Fundraiser Books Handed Over

The books raised from the #buyabook fundraiser were officially handed over to the PTA chairman, Head teacher and his Deputy at Nyakashojwa PS, Mitooma District. The Burgess Foundation Team also conducted a comprehensive training in Menstrual Hygiene at Nyakashojwa Primary School, addressing both educational needs and health awareness.
